Duncan McLeod

Founder

 

Duncan McLeod is one of the world’s most sought after Sales and Operations Planning experts.  He has guided numerous S&OP projects in the America’s, Europe and Asia. 

 

Growing up in a manufacturing family, a teenaged Duncan was challenged to schedule his father’s tubing factory. This started his lifelong quest to find better ways to plan and manage supply chains.  He founded DBM Systems in 1980 and has been helping hundreds of organizations since then.  Through this work he has come to understand the fundamental importance of S&OP in helping organizations achieve their objectives.  For the past 10 years S&OP has become the focus of his research and consulting.  He is one of the rare executive management specialists with an extensive hands-on background in manufacturing and a keen understanding of sales and demand planning.

Duncan is the author of:  Sales and Operations Planning: How to Run an S&OP Process Everyone Understands and has been a frequent speaker at local APICS chapters as well as International Conferences.  

 

Duncan is a Professional Engineer, a Certified Fellow in Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM) and a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) with APICS. He received his BASc in Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and his MBA from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

Doug Dedman

President/Principal

 

Doug Dedman has been working in S&OP in various capacities for over 10 years, but his career working with manufacturers started well before then.  He first joined Duncan in 1990 while still a university student. While at DBM he has held positions in sales and management, but most of his career has been helping customers implement change.  In his roles as consultant, project manager, and program director Doug focused on the areas of; Order Management, Scheduling, Material Planning, Procurement and Inventory Management.  Before leaving DBM in 2012, Doug was instrumental in developing and growing the S&OP practice that has become our focus today.

Doug spent four years on the technology side of S&OP.  Most recently as Vice President and General Manager of Global Services at Steelwedge Software. 

 

Doug also has taught at Conestoga College in the School of Business, and taught various APICS courses as part of the CPIM program.  He is a frequent speaker at local APICS chapters as well at International Users Conferences.

 

Doug received his Honours BA in Economics from the University of Waterloo, and his MBA from University of Windsor.  He is also certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) with APICS. In his spare time Doug raises purebred Galloway cattle.

Dave Searle

Senior Consultant

 

The practical experience Dave has gained over the past 40 years working in manufacturing and on the leading edge of ERP effectiveness with companies across North America, Europe and Africa, has equipped him with the in-depth understanding needed to help companies improve performance and achieve business objectives, particularly in the area of supply chain and shop floor execution processes.


Dave has extensive hands-on experience, and uses his unique strengths to uncover inefficiencies and their underlying root causes, and works with manufacturers to increase their capability and effectiveness.   
Dave brings experience to S&OP both from Sales and Operations.  He spent several years in enterprise software and hardware sales, as well as managing a sales team.  He also has been responsible for large project management and delivery as well as Shop Floor Master Scheduling.

 

He is certified by APICS with CPIM and CSCP designations and is a former President of the OGV Chapter.  He is a regular speaker at APICS meetings and conferences.  Over the past 10 years he has worked independently, but in 2018 he reunited with his long-standing associates Doug Dedman and Duncan McLeod of DBM System Inc.

Marshall Henley

Executive Consultant

 

Marshall leads business development for DBM. He joined the team in 2016 and brings a breadth and depth of experience that helps our clients prioritize on what they need to accomplish.  

 

Marshall has started three businesses, implemented an international franchise model, and continues to  provide business process improvement consulting, focusing on sustainable revenue models. His broad management experience over 25 years ranges from building and managing B2B service businesses to executive leadership with not-for-profits.

Prior to entering the Management Consulting profession, Marshall gained executive sales and marketing experience in business services, information technology consulting, and adult learning industries. In those roles he developed expertise in business process improvement (LEAN), business development, channel management, brand positioning, CRM and growth-oriented performance improvement.

 

Marshall's hobbies include music (drums), New York Times crosswords and gourmet cooking, but his real passion is building and flying radio-controlled model aircraft, particularly giant scale aerobats.
